Why is my room speaker volume so low?
There are three different volume controls that affect room station volume:
1. The volume control on each room station can be adjusted down from the overall volume set at the master station.
2. The master station has a volume control marked “Intercom” located behind the lower left door. This master volume control sets the overall volume for all voice and doorbell broadcasts.
3. The master station has a volume control marked “System” located behind the lower right door. This master volume control sets the overall volume for all audio/music broadcasts.
All three of the volume controls need to be adjusted for a comfortable listening level. Typically, the system should be adjusted so all rooms are set to ? volume for optimal sound. You may have a different brand of Intercom system, if so refer to your users guide for instructions.
Why is my doorbell volume so low?
There are two different volume controls that affect doorbell volume:
1. The volume control on each room station can be adjusted down from the overall volume set at the master station.
2. The master station has a volume control marked “Intercom” located behind the lower left door. This master volume control sets the overall volume for all voice and doorbell broadcasts.
Both of the volume controls need to be adjusted for a comfortable listening level. You may have a different brand of Intercom system, if so refer to your users guide for instructions.
Why do I have different volume controls for radio and intercom?
By separating the volume controls, you have more control of your system. By keeping the Intercom volume high, voice and doorbell are easily heard. Many users prefer to keep their radio volume low for background music.
What is the volume control on the face of the master unit for?
The volume control located on the face of your master station is used to control the speaker at the master station. Just as a room station has a volume control that controls its speaker.
Where can I get a users manual for my Intercom?
If you cannot find your users manual, you can find a copy of it on our Technical Support / User Manual page.
How do I monitor the baby’s room?
On the master station, behind the lower left door you will find sliding switches. Each switch represents one room station in your house (you may have more switches than you have room stations, start with switch number 1). Each switch has four different settings for its room:
1. RADIO INTERCOM = Allows radio, voice and doorbell to be broadcast on speaker.
2. INTERCOM = Allows only voice and doorbell to be broadcast on speaker.
3. OFF = Allows no broadcast on speaker.
4. MONITOR = Broadcast room to all other rooms which allow INTERCOM.
Set the volume control of the monitored room station clockwise to maximum (The level of the room station volume control also affects the microphone). At the master station, select the switch that controls the room station you wish to monitor and slide it to MONITOR. Any room station set for MONITOR will not receive doorbell, radio or voice broadcast.
There are two different volume controls that affect monitoring volume:
1. The volume control at each room station can be adjusted down from the overall volume set at the master station.
My room station does not work, what do I do?
At the master station, behind the lower left door you will find sliding switches. Each switch represents one room station in your house (you may have more switches than you have room speakers, start with switch number 1).
Find the switch that controls the room that doesn’t work and select RADIO INTERCOM. Next, there are three different volume controls that affect room station volume, check all three to ensure they are set properly:
You may have a different brand of Intercom system, if so refer to your users guide for instructions.
How do I know which switch controls each room station in my house?
The easiest way to determine which switch controls each room station is to turn the Radio on. Next, at the master station turn all switches to the OFF position. Now turn one switch to RADIO INTERCOM. Find the one station that is now working and make a note. Now turn that room station off and turn the next one on. Find that station and continue until all room stations are identified.
My radio turns on and off on it’s own?
Your Intercom has an alarm clock feature. It is default programmed to turn on the radio at 12:00pm and to turn off at 12:01am. This means it will turn on for one minute at midnight, not an opportune time for most of us. The switch to turn on and off the alarm is on the face of the master station marked “Timer”. If the red light is lit next to “Timer”, you’re alarm clock is on, simply press the button once to turn it off. The alarm clock will turn on the last radio station played. You may have a different brand of Intercom system, if so refer to your users guide for instructions.
How do I change the time for my alarm clock?
The time setting controls are behind the lower right hand door on the master station. Refer to the user manual for time setting instructions. If you cannot find your users manual, you can find a copy of it on our Technical Support / User Manual page. You may have a different brand of Intercom system, if so refer to your users guide for instructions.

Why is my AM radio reception so bad?
The intercom tuner has been de-tuned at the factory to prevent interference with the voice path. AM radio frequencies can bleed over into the voice path, resulting in undesirable noise on the intercom.
How can I listen to AM radio if my Intercom doesn’t receive AM stations well?
Many Intercom installations include an AWPM plate in the family room media niche. The AWPM plate will allow you to hook up any line-level device to your Intercom “Aux” input. First, select “Aux” at the Intercom master station. Second, plug in RCA patch cords from your Stereo tuner, CD player, etc. Then, tune your AM/FM stereo tuner to your favorite station, or load a CD and enjoy.
